Eliminate downtime with cloud VPS for data storage, web hosting or windows applications

A cloud VPS provides you with full control over the operating system of your service. You can not only install and configure the OS of your choice, you can install the applications you need as well. A cloud VPS is the ideal choice for businesses that need guaranteed hardware and performance. If you have outgrown shared servers, a cloud VPS guarantees RAM, hard drive space and processing power. It is essentially a server that has been shared among several clients, with each client having their own guaranteed hardware on the server. A cloud VPS is the only way to run a unique OS and have full administrative access without renting an entire server.

Data storage with your cloud VPS

Using your cloud VPS for data storage is a great way to enhance security with additional backups. A cloud VPS can be equipped with a large HDD (hard disk drive) for storing large amounts of data or a SDD (solid state drive) for storing small amounts of data but with increased performance. However, solid state drives are considerably more expensive and may not be necessary for basic data storage needs. SSD drives are typically used on servers where speed and performance is the top priority.

Web hosting

A cloud VPS with Windows or Linux hosting can be used for hosting websites. The typical environment for a website is Linux hosting with the CPanel control panel installed. This will give you all the same features as what shared hosting companies provide. Keep in mind, most cloud VPS’ do not come with guaranteed support and maintenance for clients that are using the VPS as a web server. Equipping the VPS with an SDD (solid state drive) would be most practical for web servers because of the increased performance.

Running Windows applications

A cloud VPS with a Windows OS such as Windows 7 or Windows 10 can be used for running applications, such as ones that consume too much bandwidth or require better performance than your home PC can provide. In these cases, you can rent a cloud VPS to run the software on a 24/7 basis. SSD (solid state drives) are practice for Windows servers as well if the software being used is demanding on the computer.
