Can a truly business survive without recovery solutions?

1 thing small businesses can’t afford to overlook: technology. Specifically, recovery solutions

We have many clients who are “smaller” by definition—and we see it all the time. On one hand it makes sense–small businesses tend to work on smaller budgets and something has to give. Business owners think about their craft, their bottom line, their clients and they try to “make due” without investing in the proper technology or infrastructure, like recovery solutions.

On the other hand, that could be a costly mistake. While scrimping on technology can save money initially–over the long-run, it is a much different story. For example, every company, no matter the service relies on data. Aside from client info and performance metrics, there are business applications that are critical to productivity. When there is a “technological mishap” (and we all know how often that happens) and proper recovery solutions are not in place, data can be lost for hours, days or even forever.

According to CloudBackup, about 70% of business people have or will have experienced significant data loss. And the reality is when data loss occurs, companies often do not recover. So, if you are fortunate enough to be reading this before experiencing a crisis, reconsider your strategy to scrimp on IT and make sure you have the right recovery solutions in place.

Technology has come a long way over the last few years and there are now enterprise-quality solutions on small business budgets. When looking for a  solution for your business, make sure you inquire about the recovery time. Gone are the days of a day (or dare I say weekly-long turnarounds). Also, it is very important to make sure you find recovery solutions that are nimble, scalable and can easily grow with your business to ensure you are making the cost-efficient choice for the long haul.
