Keep Company Data Secure. Make sure you explore backup types

What kind of backup types are available?

Building a small business is no easy feat. It takes time, money, and perseverance. You’ve taken the time to build your company one brick at a time, now it is time to consider different Backup types to ensure the longevity of your company.

Do I really need to backup my data?

Each year, thousands of businesses suffer catastrophic losses from natural disasters, fires, human error, and corporate espionage. Imagine that one of these events happened to your business. If you do not have a backup plan in place for your data, you could lose your company’s data. Without the data, how effective is your company?

There are several plans available to help keep your company’s data safe even if there is a disaster.

  • Full backup storage creates an exact copy of every file, setting, and application that is on your system. This restoration is fast and easy and will have your company operating again quickly.
  • A differential backup will store your files as you add to them and modify them. The full backup files will still be available.
  • Incremental backup will save only the new and saved files. Any files that have changed since the last backup will be saved.
  • A mirror backup is not password protected. Instead, it allows quick access to files by using search tools.

Another option is to use Cloud hosting and services. With the use of a Cloud, all of your information is stored on a server offsite. The server is completely secure and safe from security breaches. In the event of a disaster, you are able to access your information with the use of a password and user id. Also, by using a Cloud storage device, you have the ability to access your company’s data on the go, from home, or even while on vacation.

The type of backup strategy that you choose depends on how easy you want the retrieval process to be if needed.
